What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor connect to outside services. An MCP server is the bridge: Savee MCP gives your AI assistant a small set of tools to browse your saves, boards, and feed, to search Savee’s public library, and — if you grant write access — to create boards and collect work into your account.

Which AI tools work with Savee MCP?

Any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP: Claude Code, Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex, and more. Older clients that only speak HTTP+SSE can connect through mcp-remote.

Do I need a paid Savee plan?

Yes. MCP access is included with every paid Savee plan and checked on every request. If your subscription lapses, the connection pauses until billing is current again.

Do I need an API key?

No. You connect through your browser: your AI tool opens savee.com, you sign in and approve the consent screen, and you’re done. You can revoke access for any app at any time from Settings → Developers.

Is this the same library as savee.com?

Yes. Assistants read straight from your account, live: the same saves, boards, and feed you see when signed in, private ones included. The search tool goes further: it looks across Savee’s entire public library, everyone’s work, not just yours. Nothing is copied or synced anywhere else.

Can assistants change or delete my saves?

Delete, no — nothing here deletes a save or a board, and no such tool is built. Change, only if you grant write access when you connect: that lets an assistant create and rename boards and save items into your account, and take a save off a board without removing it from your account. Write access is marked separately on the consent screen and is never granted implicitly, so if you decline it every tool your assistant sees is read-only. You can revoke any app at any time from Settings → Developers.

Every save includes its source link, dimensions, and dominant colors. With view_saves, agents can look at the images themselves. Search is metered to keep the library from being scraped.

These four appear only if you grant write access when you connect — decline and your agent never sees them, so it can’t offer to do something it has no permission for. New boards are private unless you ask for otherwise. Nothing here deletes a save or a board, or uploads new images: removing a save takes it off a board and leaves it in your account.

Pick your AI tool

Register the Savee MCP server

Open a terminal and run this command:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user savee https://mcp.savee.com/mcp

Savee is also in the Claude connector directory: in Claude (desktop or web), open Settings → Connectors, find Savee, and click Connect.

Start a new Claude Code session and run the command below. Select savee from the list of MCP servers, then hit Authenticate.

Authorize in your browser

Your browser opens savee.com. The consent screen lists exactly what you’re granting: read access to your profile, saves, and boards, with anything that can change your account marked separately. Approve it and you’re connected. Revoke any app later from Settings → Developers.
